Windows 10: Lock screen not locking

I'm on my laptop at work, not plugged in, and after some minutes of inactivity, the screen went dark as intended, and then when I hit spacebar, it showed the lock screen, but then hitting spacebar again didn't show the password prompt, it just moved the lockscreen up and out of the way, and my work documents were exposed.I need the lock screen to require a password, period, no matter how long the screen is dark or the lockscreen has been present.I'm not seeing settings for this. I'm on Windows 11 Pro latest version. I have no plugins or anything like that related to lock screen installed. My

You can use your own image of any background and just go to settings/personalize/lock screen and click on browse as in the image below. It should make whatever picture you use as the Lock Screen

Setting the timeout for Lock Screen

• Press Windows + I and select personalization.
  
• Select Lock screen.
  
  
• Select the Screen Timeout setting.
  
• Select the time of timeout you need and check.

To change the
lock screen photo, follow these steps:

• 
  Go to
  Settings.
  
• 
  Choose
  Personalization.
  
• 
  On the left side of the screen, click on
  Lock screen.
  
• 
  In the
  Background, change it to
  Picture.
