    Lock Screen Password Text Box Dissappears


    I have several PC in my organization that are experiencing this issue. When a user locks a PC if the user doesn't log back in with 30 seconds the lock screen displays a spinning circle where the password text box was and then the text box disappears completely and the only way to log back in is with a system restart. This issue is a recent issue, and I have uninstalled the latest windows updates, removed wireless/wired keyboards, updates the graphics card drivers and have not had any luck resolving this issue. This issue occurs on laptops and desktops of various models. All Dell hardware.

Re-installing windows on all these systems will be a very time intensive undertaking and in addition the issue has already come back on previously wiped systems.

    Hi Eashwar,

    About your concern on enabling password protected lock screen, follow the steps below:

    • Go to Settings > Click Accounts.
    • On the right panel select Sign-in options > Under Password you'll see the option to add password.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions.

    Let us resolve you concern regarding on how you can change your lock screen password. We suggest that you follow the steps below:

    • Press the Windows key; then, select Settings.
    • Click Accounts; then, Sign-In Options.
    • Tap the Change button in the Password section.
    • Re-enter your password; then, create a new password.
