Windows 10: Lock screen picture no longer appears as Login picture in Win 11

For the last 6 months, I've been using one of the supplied pictures as both my Lock screen and Logon screen. Sometime last week, the Logon screen reverted to the basic blue option, while the lock screen behaves as it should, and Use Lock screen as Logon screen is selected - I've turned this off, rebooted, and turned it on again - still the same problem.In a thread from 2018 with the same problem, someone replied that, if you log off, this happens, but I don't log off - I simply Shut Down or Restart.Any ideas

After disabling W10 Lock Screen can you still have a Login picture?

After using a group policy to disable Windows 10 Pro's Lock Screen the wallpaper picture that had been showing during Lock and Login no longer displayed. Just get a grey background for the Login screen. I would still like to have a picture appear there. Possible, and if so, how?

 

Lock Screen background picture


Has anybody had difficulty adding a picture / wallpaper to the lock screen.
I have just set up windows 10 screen saver and I see you can change the lock screen back ground picture.
I have tried adding either one of the windows wallpapers or one of my own pictures but I can't find any option to save the image. on closing the window & returning to the lock screen the picture does not appear to save and returns to the standard blue background with date and time.
I can't find any option to save the image as a lock screen wallpaper.
Does anybody have any suggestions.

Auto login and pictures at login

Though you have enabled auto login and there is no lock screen, you should still be able to see the user account picture on the Welcome screen and the same picture (set as user account picture) can be set as the login page background.



To set the custom picture as the login screen background, please follow the steps given below.

• Go to Settings->Personalization->Lock screen.
  
• Click on the dropdown list under Background and select
  Picture.
  
• Click on the Browse button under
  Choose your picture.
  
• Browse to the location where the picture is saved and select the desired picture.
  
• Similarly, to set the same image as the user account picture, open the Settings app.
  
• Go to Accounts->Your info->Browse for one.
  
• Browse to the location where the image is saved and select it to set it as the user account picture.
