Windows 10: Lock Screen Weather Widget Disappeared after applying Windows 11 23H2 update

I recently downloaded and installed the Window 11 23H2 using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant. After the update and a subsequent update KB4023057, the lock screen no longer shows the Weather, Stock Prices and Sports widgets even though the personalization settings for the Lock Screen are set appropriately. All of these widgets were working prior to the update. I have the Weather widget set to "Default Location".I have tried changing to another option Calendar, but the lock screen continues to only show the current Windows Spotlight image."Winver" reports Windows 11 23H2 OS Build

weather widget disappeared after windows update "Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034765)"

so today I just updated the "Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034765)". I always include the weather in my “lock screen status”. but after the update those options disappeared and only email, calendar and dev home remained. I do not know. I really appreciate your help, thank you.

 

Weather widget Lock Screen confusion?

Hi everyone, I have three devices with Windows 11 and the latest updates installed. I am a bit confused about the weather widget on the Lock Screen as it looks different on one of my devices.

Up until I reset a device, the Lock Screen weather widget looked like this on all three:





After resetting one device back to factory settings on and turning the weather widget on in Lock Screen personalisation settings on another device, they both now look like this:





The problem is on my third device has the latest updates but doesn’t have the smarter weather widget as above, (it has the weather widget featured in the first image).

Has the Lock Screen weather widget been redesigned and do I need to be worried that my laptop doesn’t have the update? Do I need to reset the laptop like I did with my PC? I don’t mind too much about the issue but I just want to check my laptop isn’t broken.

If you want to add weather app in the lock screen follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Turn on notifications in PC Settings. (This should be on by default.)

• Open the Settings Charm.
• Tap or click Change PC settings.
• Tap or click Notifications.
• Slide the Show app notifications and Show app notifications on the lock screen switches to On.

Step 2: Add the Weather app to lock screen notifications

• Open the Settings charm.
• Tap or click Change PC settings.
• Tap or click Personalize.
• In the right pane, with the Lock screen tab selected, under Choose apps to run in the background… tap or click one of the “plus” symbols and select Weather.

Then under Choose an app to display detailed status, tap or click the icon beneath it and select Weather.
