Windows 10: Locked accounts and the absolute frustration gaining access to them again

I have been trying to get through to someone on the phone and no matter how many times I phrase that I need to talk to customer support it NEVER puts me through to a person which is absolutely frustrating..... My issue is I'm trying to gain access to at least 1 of the 2 accounts that have been locked the day after it was created and I've exhausted myself in all possible areas of trying to gain access to it. I've sat here multiple days just trying to get the code sent over and over and over and over and over and over to my phone and nothing ever comes through. I honestly don't know how anyone i

I understand how concerning it can be to see unsuccessful sign in attempts.

It happens with people because of hackers. However, you're safe for now. I suggest you activate two-step authentication. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-bil...

No one will be able to access your attempt without an authentication code. It all also help you avoid getting locked.

How to gain access to the WindowsApps folder?


To gain write access you need to do two things:

1. Change ownership (it should be "TrustedInstaller") to an admin account
2. Grant that account write access

I'm not sure if it works with every admin account or if you need the "real" admin account which is hidden. It can be revealed by entering the following command in elevated cmd: net user Administrator /active:yes (or active:no do hide it again).

 

Account keeps getting locked - someone trying to gain access

Ever since the other day my account keeps getting locked every day.

And when I checked in my account activity page, I see a massive number of unsuccessful sign in attempts - this is not normal right? Someone seems to be trying to gain access to my account for some reason. This has been going on for at least a month, probably more, I just stopped clicking on the "View more account activity" button at that point.

When I check my google account activity for example, there is nothing there.

I have a strong password (randomly generated by my password manager) and I have both a second email and phone number associated with the account for recovery purposes.

But what can I do about my account getting locked over and over again?
