    Locked Computer scam: What repercussions if I called the number


    Hi, this was definitely asked before and after looking at some of the responses I wanted to follow up as I had a few concerns based on my experience. My computer screen was locked and I was not able to escape or use my keyboard much, although my mouse was working. I had an audio saying my IP address was used and it was a breach to my privacy. It said to call a "Microsoft support number" and unfortunately I didn't have the wits to google this issue on my phone before dialing this number. I was definitely suspicious and hung up as soon as they person on the phone asked me to download a software
