Windows 10: Locked laptop, no password, Bitlocker locks the drive

A colleague expired recently and left his laptop issued by the office locked and Bitlocker locks the drive. We don't know what password he used and the Bitlocker recovery key. How can we reformat the laptop if there's no other way to access it?

Got locked by BitLocker Drive Encryption

I forgot my PIN and password to log in my laptop and when I try to unlock it through cmd.exe and it said "This drive is locked by BitLocker Drive Encryption." but I lost my recovery password of BitLocker. What can I do to log in again?

In your case, it should a lot easier. Most laptops locked with a password can be unlocked. If an invalid password is entered in 3-5 times, a string of numbers appear which can be used to produce a master/backdoor password. In my case, I don't have access to the laptop.
