Windows 10: Locked out and can't find BitLocker key

I ran a Windows update last night on my Dell Inspiron 13 laptop that I use as a backup spare PC. This morning, I tried to start it up and was locked out because it's asking me for a BitLocker Key. I looked in my Microsoft account as instructed, but there is no BitLocker Key stored in my account. I tried calling Microsoft for Tech Support by phone, and was told that no phone support is available. The online instructions are horribly technical and confusing for the average user. Help!Keiko

BitLocker recovery key

My computer is locked by BitLocker and the recovery key is not showing in the Microsoft account (the device is listed). How can I generate/retrieve the key (I don't have it stored anywhere)?
