Windows 10: Locked out from Windows 8.1 User Account - Forgotten Password How to Apply userkey.psw

Windows 8.1 Local User Administrator Account Locked Out:I had made a Flash Drive userkey.psw Password Reset Disk in 2016 I believe for the self same HP ENVY Phoenix h9-1360ea Desktop PC, where I now have a problem with recalling my New Password which I had implemented yesterday.I changed my User Password yesterday and thought it was simple enough for me to remember - though not easy for anyone else. But I have now tried variations of what I thought is the New Password, with no success,I have noted that the Log In Screen "Password Hint" is not appearing as it had before With either the for

dell pc, win7,

i read the instructions first.

inserted a thumb drive.

i opened notepad, typed the userkey i decided on -- @highjack@

i copied the userkey ( @highjack@ ) from the notepad and pasted it where i was instructed to type the userkey .

twice per the instructions

of course the system didn't show me what i had typed

the system created the userkey psw file on thumb drive.

naturally i cannot read the psw, but the user key should be exactly @highjack@ .

it will no open/unlock my pc.

now what ?

i figured psw would not recognize special symbols ( @ and ! ) so tried the password withouth the special key
