Windows 10: Locked out of account don’t have access’s to 6 digit recovery code.

I am locked out of my Microsoft account and My recovery code is getting sent to an email I no longer have access to. I also need to get my bitlocker recovery key for my Lenovo laptop and can’t access it in my Microsoft account. Can someone from the Microsoft service team contact me and give me an operator to speak to. Every time I try to call I get an AI bot that doesn’t know how to solve my problem.

Why does Microsoft Authenticator give you 8 digit code when all the sites are asking for a 6 digit code?

We are supposed to send users with Authenticator questions to Microsoft Q&A but I've spent some time searching

and found a few suggestions that might help.

1. Turn off 2 factor verification on any account that will allow you to do this.

2. For a Microsoft account:

The confusion comes in when you add the Authenticator App to your MS account. There is an option to use 3rd party compatible QR codes. If you select that you will get a 6 digit TOTP vice 8 digit TOTP.

4. For other accounts see if the code can be sent to an email account, not a mobile phone

I keep on getting 6 digit verification codes when a 7 digit is required!!!

I'm trying to set up a new PC and cannot log into my Microsoft account without a valid verification code. Password is correct. Old phone number is not accessible. I can't change any settings (i.e. 2 step verification, security settings, etc) without a seven-digit code. I keep receiving a 6-digit code every time!. How do I fix this?
