    Locked Out of Key Processes?


    A week ago I somehow lost the ability to shutdown my computer or access task manager on my 2 year old computer. I've looked and tried a number of different things with no success. I've tried accessing acount settings but never found an option for ctrlaltdelete options. Tried using registry editor, tried to run gpedit.msc and windows couldnt find it.


    This is a home computer that I've been using for two years. There are no other profiles other than my own, so no admin account other than myself.


    At this point i'm out of ideas, not sure what else to try since everything i've searched for online hasn't worked.

    Rotation lock key is not functioning

    Since the Rotation lock is still grayed out, our next step is to uninstall/Update your display driver. To uninstall your your drivers, you can do the following:

    • Press the Windows and X key on your keyboard and click on
      Device Manager      .
    • On the Device Manager window, click on the Display adapter drop-down.
    • Right-click the driver and choose uninstall.
    • Restart your computer.

    If it is the same, update the said driver by following these steps:

    • Go Back to the Display adapter drop down in Device Manager.
    • Locate your display adapter driver, right-click and choose
      Update Driver Software      .

    We would also suggest that you go to your device manufacturer's website and download the latest driver for your device.

    Hi Josey -

    Thanks for the quick reply. While your suggestion does change the sign in process, it doesn't address the differing screenshot question. Following the steps doesn't make the login screenshot the same as the Lock screenshot. As I mentioned, I can't even find the screenshots being used for both screens.

    Still looking a solution to this. Open to any other suggestions you might have to the problem. Thanks!
