Windows 10: Locked out of Microsoft account and Windows 11 PIN is not available

This one is tricky, but bear with me.On the 3rd of November, I installed a fresh new Windows 11 on my PC. When I was asked for a Microsoft account I wanted to log in but I forgot the password for it since it is not my primary email and had one too many attempts. I was locked out from my account. Then I remembered I was logged in on my laptop and I went there, changed the recovery option from the old not used anymore mobile phone number to a new email address and it said I needed to wait 30 days for the change to take effect. Creating a Microsoft account PIN

If you are unable to create a PIN for your Microsoft account, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:

1.Reset Microsoft Account: Try resetting your Microsoft account password. You can do this using a third-party device such as a cell phone, tablet, etc. by going to the Microsoft Account Recovery page and following the instructions to reset your password. After resetting the password, restart the computer and try creating the PIN again.

2.I would suggest that you can refer to the steps in Start your PC in safe mode in Windows - Microsoft Support to start your computer in safe mode.

Please create a new account in Safe Mode by following the steps below and see if the issue still persists under the new account.

• Search for CMD, then run it in administrator mode and enter the following command:
  

• After prompting the command to run successfully, enter the following command:
  

Note: USERNAME PASSWORD can be replaced with your desired account name and password, if you don't need a password you can leave out PASSWORD.

Microsoft Account PIN and password

We appreciate the screenshot that you provided. to start troubleshooting the issue with you logins, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how login pin goes back to password:

• Click Start menu and go to Settings.
• In Settings, click the Accounts icon.
• Click on Sign-in options.
• Change both your password and pin one by one.

Password reset Windows 10 Microsoft Account

I also had a similar problem...twice. First time I was told to get into my E-mail account and change the PIN there. Luckily I had another PC available so I get it done. Second time I was told to write my password for my Microsoft account. Luckily I was able to remember that. So, there is different scenarios that could appear. And you don't know which. Have you checked your E-mail if there happen to be a post there from Microsoft that could make you able to change your password? May you also could find something here.
