Hello,I have a laptop from 2014 that I can’t get in to. I swear I know the password, but it won’t let me in. It instructs me to go to reset my password online for my microsoft account. I tried that several times on my phone, but the new password will not interface to my laptop, and I still can’t get in. I can’t figure out why it won’t let me in. I am connected to the internet on my old laptop still and everything. I just want access to some of my photos that might be on the laptop since all my photos from high school were lost forever long story short. I am hoping maybe I saved a couple on my

Thanks for the reply, but it does not help me. The website does not proceed past step 4. After entering the security code, the website does not proceed to step 5. It does not give an error message, it simply greys out the next and cancel buttons and hangs
indefinitely.

Reset your password

If you can't remember your password, follow these steps to get into your account.

• Go to the Reset your password page.
• Choose the reason you need your password reset, then click Next.
  
• Enter the email address you used when you made your Microsoft account. This could be any email address, or an email ending in a Microsoft domain like hotmail.com or outlook.com.
  
• Enter the characters you see on the screen (this lets us know you’re not a robot), then click Next.
  
• If you've added security info to your account, we'll send a one-time code to the alternate phone number or email address you gave us. After you enter that code on the next screen, you'll be able to make a new password.

I'll try your "Get account help by email" suggestion and post the solution here when I've found one.

 

Locked Out of Admin Account

1. Are you using a Microsoft account or a local account?
   
2. Which version of Windows 10 you are using currently?
   
3. Is the other user account an admin account?
   

I suggest you to try using the on screen keyboard at the login page and check if you are able to login to the PC.

1. At the login screen click on the
   ease of access icon at the bottom right hand corner.
   
2. Click on the on screen keyboard to open it.
   
3. Type the password and try to login.
   

If you are using a Microsoft account, I suggest you to refer the article on

how to reset your Microsoft account password.



However, if you are using a local account, then I suggest you to refer the article on

reset your Windows 10 local account password.



Note: While performing these steps, there might be a risk of data loss. You may take a backup of the data before performing the steps.
