Windows 10: Locked out of my laptop and account

I recently bought a new laptop and by accident I logged in on an older account which happened to have a phone number of someone I know attached to it. Now I am unable to log into my laptop as after I enter my password it displays this : " Your account requires attention, someone else has claimed ownership of phone number here. You'll need to use a different username when you next sign in." From here I get two options : to click " I still own phone number here " or continue and change my username. If I try to verify I still own the phone number using a code it displays : "there's a tempora

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

All you need is a Windows 10 installation USB in order to use the procedure given in post #2.

If you do not have one of them then you will need to take your computer to somebody who does.

The procedure does not entail any use of the MSAccount reset / old mobile number / email reset.

Your Microsoft account needs you to sign in again-recent credentials

Yes the correct or current info is in the Settings/Accounts/Your email and accounts.
The steps in the tutorial included signing in after deleting a listing. I couldn't see where that was relevant since its a second listing. It looks like I have to voluntarily do the 'sign in' so I can avoid doing that. I'm locked out for 30 days anyway.
Perhaps its time to set up a stand alone user account in that laptop <grin> Too nerve wracking dealing with this MSAccount.
