Windows 10: Locked out of my laptop with outdated Microsoft account

Hi,After finishing work for the day on my laptop, I swithced off my wifi and went on with my day. Later on, I tried to bring my laptop out of sleep mode & noticed my laptop got restartedwithout my doing. When trying to log in with my normal password just oncelike I do everyday without being online, it said I have entered the wrong password too many times. When I tried to reset my password, it gave me an outdated Microsoft account which I haven't used in ages and all the recovery options has long been deleted or not been in use. Can you explain to me how this is possible please. I am a

Accidentally locked my laptop from my Microsoft Account. How to unlock the device

If you've accidentally locked your laptop via your Microsoft account and you're not seeing an "Unlock" option, here are the steps to unlock your device:

1. Physical Access: Go to your locked laptop. You'll need physical access to your laptop to unlock it.
   
2. Login Screen: At the login screen, you'll need to enter the password for the Microsoft account that the laptop is linked to. If you have changed your Microsoft account password recently, ensure you're using the latest one.
   
3. Reset Password: If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it. From the sign-in screen on your laptop, select 'I forgot my password' and follow the prompts. You'll need to verify your identity and then you can enter a new password.
   
4. Two-step Verification: If you have two-step verification activated, you'll need to provide an additional security code which can be sent to your email, phone number or authenticator app.
   

After successfully entering your password (and second verification step if applicable), your laptop should be unlocked.

The lock option from Microsoft account is for temporary scenarios where you've left your device unattended and you want to make sure no one else can access it. Once you unlock it from the device itself, it should be back to normal use.

Your Microsoft account needs you to sign in again-recent credentials

Yes the correct or current info is in the Settings/Accounts/Your email and accounts.
The steps in the tutorial included signing in after deleting a listing. I couldn't see where that was relevant since its a second listing. It looks like I have to voluntarily do the 'sign in' so I can avoid doing that. I'm locked out for 30 days anyway.
Perhaps its time to set up a stand alone user account in that laptop <grin> Too nerve wracking dealing with this MSAccount.

  Have you changed the password of your Microsoft Account/
  

I would suggest you to try the below methods and check if it helps:

Method 1: Change the language on the lock Screen.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Click the language on the bottom of the lock screen.
  
• 
  Select the English language and click Ok.
  
• 
  Put your password now and check if you are able to login.
  

If the language option is not available on the bottom of o lock screen, then try method 2.



Method 2: Use On Screen Keyboard.

Follow the below steps;

• 
  Click on the Ease of access icon on the bottom of lock screen.
  
• 
  Select the On Screen Keyboard.
  
• 
  Type your password through On Screen Keyboard.
