Windows 10: Locked out of Windows 10

Hi my mother in-law has just had windows 10 loaded onto her computer after only using XP. It was set up with a pin code log on. She is blind and asked me to remove the log on pin code / password requirement as it makes it more difficult for her to manage. I managed to remove the pin code requirement but it still asked for a password. After searching for answers I tried changing the settings so it would just boot to the desk top. I made her the administrator in order for the changes to take place. However it still booted to the password required screen and has now locked and no password works. She does have a Microsoft profile and password which I can access on another computer but the password won't work to unlock her computer. My mother in-law is just turning 80 years, has been blind for 50 years but still manages to preform basic computer functions i.e. email and searches. She lives for her daily emails and I need to get this fixed for her. Any help out there will be greatly appreciated. My question is if I reinstalled windows 10 (we brought the program) will this fix the issue so I can set it up initially without having to set a password and if by doing so will she loose the programs that have been installed i.e. Jaws for windows 10? Is there any easier fix?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
