Windows 10: Locked out of Windows 11 laptop after Microsoft 365 subscription

I set up my laptop with an old Hotmail account 2 years ago. When I subscribed Microsoft 365 today I set up a new account using my Gmail email instead. I followed instructions, downloaded Microsoft 365 startup and let it run until a notification said installation was complete and I was free to go offline or shutdown. I rebooted and tried out Word. My old Hotmail was still signed in and it showed the free trial dialogue box. I signed out and signed back in with the Gmail account. It said I need to use a pin and advised I go to settings>account>sign in options>pin to set it up.When I ope

You mention you cancelled your Office 365 subscription, if that is the case, what Microsoft Office version is installed on your laptop?

Open Word, go to File - Account, what Microsoft Office licence(s) are listed there?

 

Can I download Microsoft Defender without a 365 subscription on windows 11 home

HI I was wondering if I could ask a question. I was wanting to now Does Microsoft Defender work on windows 11 pcs or do I have to have a 365 subscription in order to use the new Microsoft defender on my windows 11 pc.

I read about the new defender on windows central so I was just curious whether I could download the Microsoft Defender from the internet even if I do not have a 365 subscription.
