  1. Log in issue for One user only on Home computer HP All in One Desk.

I can log into my HP All in one computer, however all I get is the screensaver with the few shortcuts I saved to desktop. Edge and print shortcut I can't access settings, email or files.. There is no error message. Unfortunately, I can't find my recovery key either. The computer is only 14 months old. My husband is the other user and he is able to access all his data from his log in when he switches over to his account. Any tips on what to do without me having to wipe all my files. Thanks in Advance.

    :)

    • Press “Windows Key + R".
    • Type “netplwiz”.
    • Click on Add and follow the onscreen instructions.

    Windows 10 User Log-In Issue

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
I will surely help you to fix the issue with logging in to the new User Account.

To understand the issue better, I would need more information from your end.

    • Is the new User Account a Local or Microsoft Account?

    • Is that an Administrator User Account?
    Method 1:

I suggest you to restart the computer once and check if it helps.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to boot the computer to Safe Mode and check if the issue occurs. In Safe Mode computer starts
with minimal set of drivers and files.

Windows startup settings - Microsoft Support

Hope this information helps. Reply to the post with an updated status of the issue so that we can assist you further.

  4. Log in issue for One user only on Home computer HP All in One Desk.

Unable to log on to my desk top PC.

    Hi Dean,

Thank you for keeping us updated.

I’m sorry to know that your issue is still unresolved.

    • Do you have any other user account to log in to the computer?
I suggest you to enable the built in administrator account and try to create a new user account and transfer all the user profile data of the old account.

    Follow the below steps:

    • Press and hold on the Shift Key from the Windows sign in screen and click on Restart.

    • Follow the path Troubleshoot> Advanced Options > Start Up settings.

    • Click on Restart.

    • Choose Enable Safe Mode with
      Command Prompt.

    • At the command prompt, type net user administrator /active:yes, and then press Enter.

    • Type net user administrator <Password>, and then press Enter.
    Note: In this command,
<Password> represents the actual password that you want to set for the administrator account.

    • Type exit, and then press Enter.

    • Log off the current user account.
Note: type net user administrator /active:yes, to disable the
Built-in Administrator after adding the Microsoft account.

    Hope it helps.

Let us know if you have any further query on Windows, we are glad to assist you.
