  1. Logging in Windows 10 requires a different password than logging into MS account

    Hi there,

I have a client who has a laptop with Windows 10. When I look at her account, I see her email address hotmail. So this would mean she uses a MS account to log into Windows. When I wanted to change her PIN, it asked me for her MS account password. So I tried with the password she uses to log into Windows. This was not accepted. Finally we reset her MS account password. And I could change the PIN.

So now the situation is that she uses one password not the PIN to log into Windows and another password to log into her MS account and hotmail.

I think this is very confusing. I read in other threads here, that you cannot have a different Windows password from your MS account, unless you use a local account.

    So how is this possible?

    Regards,

    Michiel

  2. Log in requires password

Since a recent update the PC now requires a password to log in.

I have tried Windows Key - netplwiz and unchecked "users must use password...."

There are no other users shown in the listing.

I use my Windows account as my log in which is also the administrator account.

Also on restart the lock screen shows - pretty picture and no taskbar. I have to press spacebar to release that and then it shows my account and requires a password input.

  3. Steam account 'logged in elsewhere'.

So this time Steam didn't automatically log me in but asked for my password because I was 'logged in elsewhere'.

Personally I know for sure I wasn't. Obviously I changed my password.

However, this has already happened some weeks ago as well... and I had changed my password then too.

I see no difference in my account, my games are still there, I can still log in, no one played any games using my account.

    So, two questions:

    - Can I say for sure that someone is guessing my password and logging in?

    - Is there a way to check through my steam account where 'elsewhere' is?

Logging in Windows 10 requires a different password than logging into MS account

    How-to enable auto log-on in Windows 7?

I need the computer to boot and then automatically log into Windows 7.

The account would automatically log into a standard account (non-admin) with no password.

However, I also have another account in that same computer (which is an admin account).

If I was to enable auto log-on into this computer, how would I be able to log into the administrator account that I have later if it skips the log-in screen?
