  1. Login issues after changing UPN and SamAccountName

Hello, I created a test account to practice with so I don't mess up a real employees account. I created the test account and changed the UPN and SamAccountName as if the users ser name changed to see what would happened. I even got the email and alias set up so if some emailed *** Email address is removed for privacy *** they would go to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. The issue I'm running into is logging into the account. The profile is there and when I go to enter the password it always says it's incorrect. I always have to sign in as a new user re-entering the username and password to get in. What did I do wrong that would cause the

Should Hybrid joined computers allow login with UPN first

Hi, I'm looking to understand if hybrid domain joined computers should be able to logon with the users UPN in the first instance when no direct line of site to an on premises domain controller.

We have examples at our organisation where a user is permanently based offsite and we wish to send them a brand new computer that they have not logged onto before. Currently we either ask them to come collect the computer and log onto it before taking it
away or we set them up with a local account (really want to move away from this option).

We have implemented hybrid domain joined computers as we cannot move away from group policy at this stage but none of our hybrid domain joined computers allow UPN login when no line of site to a domain controller. Is this normal behaviour?

Note: UPN logon does work if line of site to a domain controller and with locally cached username.

I suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

    • Did you make any changes prior to the issue?

Login issues after changing UPN and SamAccountName

One user can't login to ADFS

There's a user of our farm who's having problems to login to ADFS. He gets the ADFS login page but he cannot login. He constantly gets the page again and again. When he types a wrong password, he gets a message that the password is wrong. But once he uses correct credentials he is repeatedly prompted for login. If he tries to login using WIA on Internet Explorer it works, but not with forms based authentication.

I see security event failure 4625, but for my ADFS service account, stating that this service account is locked, when it's really not. I get that error when this user tries to login only. I've changed the user's samaccountname and then he can login succesfully, but due to organization regulations, the samaccountname has to be a designated value, so that is not a solution. Even if I create a new user, and i set the samaccountname to the user that's failing it also fails. Is there a black list or anything like that in AD FS?

    Kind regards,
    Federico
