Windows 10: Login Password is set but still appears as PIN for administrator

I am using Windows 10 Pro. The initial login name appeared to be the Windows account name from my OneDrive account. I was asked to create a PIN. Thus, upon Windows starts, I login with the PIN. HOWEVER, I changed login method from Windows account to LOCAL and created a username and PASSWORD for logging in.


Strangely, after I restarted the computer, the logging name was changed as I expected, but NOT the password. PIN was still asked but not PASSWORD.

• Click Start menu and go to Settings.
• In Settings, click the Accounts icon.
• Click on Sign-in options.
• Change both your password and pin one by one.

Unable to login using The login PIN

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the pin and check fi it helps.

• In the login page next to “PIN password option”.
• You will find “Other sign in options”, click on it will prompt you for regular password.
• Enter regular password and login to the computer.
• I suggest you to click on the Start Menu
  and select settings.
• Now select Accounts.
• Next select the tab Sign-in option.
• Under the “PIN tab” click on “ADD” option.
• It will prompt you for current pin password and new password, please provide
  new password then apply the changes, restart
  the computer and check if it works.

How to SWITCH login method from PIN to password

do I need internet access to change the PIN login to password login? I purchased a barely used laptop with the previous owner's user name as administrator and PIN login. He gave me the PIN login and what he believed was the password he used but the steps
you outlined don't work. I tried many times (without being connected to the internet) with no luck.
