Login screen no longer displays password input, but jumps back to Ctrl + Alt + Del

    Hello dear Community,

I have been using the secure login method "Ctrl Alt Del" for quite some time now. It always worked perfectly.

Yesterday I just wanted to restart my computer. I made no changes or whatsoever. However, when it was restarted, I couldn't free myself from the lock screen (Clock + Date + "Ctrl Alt Del"). Whenever I press the required key combination, the charging circuit is shown for one second and I land on the lock screen again. Even several restarts or the "safe mode" didn't help.

Can the computer still be saved?
I'm not interested in data, I've backed them all up. I only want to log on the PC again at least once to deactivate the key combination to use the PC again.

PC: Asus K538 with the latest Windows 1903 and latest updates.

    Many thanks in advance,

    letterfl

    :)

  2. Ctrl Alt Del, Vista

The whole Ctrl+Shift+Esc should be used to get that crazy screen with those options and Ctrl+Alt+Del should bring up TM.

On a domain you won't get Task Manager when you hit Ctrl+Alt+Del. You get a crazy screen with a bunch of options.

Ctrl+Shift+Esc has always brought up just the Task Manager, even back to Windows XP days. You just weren't aware of it. *Wink Login screen no longer displays password input, but jumps back to Ctrl + Alt + Del ;)

Go ahead, try it in Windows XP too.

Depends on whether you have the Welcome Screen, or the Domain Logon screen at boot up.
