Windows 10: Login screen not working

Hello,


I am unable to enter the pin on the login screen, its its not moving at all.


Let me explain briefly


I am running windows 10 on dell laptop.


When i start the system it takes me to the login screen where I'm supposed to enter the pin. For some reason i do not get that option screen gets stuck


I tried to troubleshoot and do a system restore, unfortunately it needs my windows Live password which i dont remember. I have reset my windows Live password but the same has not synced on my laptop.


Kindly advise what option do i have? I really do not want to loose the data on my laptop.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. While your suggestion does change the sign in process, it doesn't address the differing screenshot question. Following the steps doesn't make the login screenshot the same as the Lock screenshot. As I mentioned, I can't even find the screenshots being used for both screens.

Still looking a solution to this. Open to any other suggestions you might have to the problem. Thanks!

 

Windows 10 infinite restart black screen


The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
