Windows 10: Login screen

I have a PC with Windows 10, lots of memory and disc space. Up until the last week i could turn on the computer and start up windows and no login screen was displayed. then a windows update was installed and now I am forced to enter my password. I tried using netplwiz, leaving the checkbox titled "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" unchecked, after selecting my account id (only one displayed). i clicked "Ok". Rebooting then displayed the login prompt as before.


How do i disable the login prompt

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. While your suggestion does change the sign in process, it doesn't address the differing screenshot question. Following the steps doesn't make the login screenshot the same as the Lock screenshot. As I mentioned, I can't even find the screenshots being used for both screens.

Still looking a solution to this. Open to any other suggestions you might have to the problem. Thanks!

Ok, let the powershell command run overnight
If the command didn't solve the problem, the try these steps in order:

• Disable superfetch service
  • Empty the following folder c:\Windows\Prefetch\
  • Restart the computer
  • Si ça ne marche pas, passer l'étape 2;
• Disable the AppXSvc from the registry: change the "Start" key value from 3 to 4 (see the screenshot)
