    Hi there,We recently bought a new computer. When we first turned it on, we were asked to login to a Microsoft accountWe typed a gmail address that we don't own, because we thought we would be able to create the account on the fly, but we figured it was not the case, so we just "Skipped for now" in the next steps.Since then we have restarted the computer, but we are forced to sign in to this account that does not exist, with this gmail address that exists but we don't own, and there is no way out : the "forgot password" procedure is irrelevant the account does not exist, and I don't see any "Sk

    Login Error - Wrong Microsoft Account Listed

    I'm not sure how this happened, but my laptop shows the administrator account with the wrong email address, which does not belong to me, and I have no idea what the password is for that account. The laptop will not allow me to restore unless I have the
    right credentials. I cannot access the settings or the start menu without first logging in. Since I do not have the password, I cannot login. I can't afford to lose my programs and files. Any suggestions on how to login using a different account that is
    not listed?

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. Appreciate your interest in using Windows 10.

    I suggest you to login with the old Microsoft Account to your system and add the new Account (e-mail address) to the system by following the steps below:

    • Click on Start>Settings>Accounts.
    • Under Your Account, scroll down to get the option to ‘Add a Microsoft Account’.
    • Click on ‘Add a Microsoft Account’ and add the new account that has been created.

    Restart the computer and login with the new account and can delete the old account if not required.
