    Logitech 5.1 surround Z906 recognized as stereo speakers in windows and PC games...


    Windows 11 up to date. Motherboard is asus x570 e gaming. All drivers up to date. Logitech 5.1 surround Z906. Factory reset. 3 direct audio cables to the motherboard. 100% correctly placed. It is not the original direct audio cable, but a replacement from amazon https://www.amazon.com/Ancable-Replacement-Logitech-Computer-6ft%EF%BC%8CCompatible/dp/B01M63MW5PWhen testing in realtek audio console and windows 11 I only get sound from front left and front right speaker, but during actual gameplay I get 5.1 sound. Also all speakers are active if I play music. Internal testing works on logitech

    Logitech surround speakers not recognized as surround speakers?

    Press Windows+X keys

    Choose Control Panel

    Click to "view devices and printers" under Hardware and Sound

    find your Logitech speakers right click on icon & choose remove device

    then unplug Logitech usb/wire connection from pc

    reboot pc

    then plug in Logitech speaker connection (usb/wire)

    Test surround on software program that reproduces surround audio in say movie/video

    Ae-5 z906 issues

    Normally with UAD Realtek onboard sound you would set to "Stereo" setting on Realtek Audio Console , and use "3D Stereo" console setting in Z906, to obtain sound on all 5 speakers.
    I use this method on Z906 speakers.

    I would think this is the same for a sound card .

    Ordinary internet music available does not allow for 5.1 sound. There are web sites however specialiasing in bespoke digital and 5.1 film track and pop music extracts, which I have experimented with.

    The distortion might be too high sound setting on Z906 Logitech console.

    Logitech surround speakers not recognized as surround speakers?

    Hi I have Logitech Z506 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers plugged into my laptop. They work fine and all but when I go into the sound settings they are labelled as stereo. There are not other options to select. How can I change this? I suck at audio stuff so
    please try to dumb it down for me if that's ok. Thanks in advance, hope I can fix this if it is fixable
