Logitech USB dongle causing intermittent keyboard issues

This is just an FYI in regards to this post since it's locked:"USB-C Dock Intermittent USB Mouse and Keyboard Issues"https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/usb-c-dock-intermittent-usb-mouse-and-keyboard/3433c361-c022-43f4-abaa-f4881b8fd950?page=2My logitech USB dongle for my headset seemed to be the issue. When I remove it, the issue goes away. Tried multiple USB ports on monitors and dock and I still had the issue. Got the tip from the below:https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/mouse-and-keyboard-wont-work.3529570/#post-21348663I have 1 other user with this same issue

    :)

    Logitech keyboard inconsistent connectivity

Five years ago I built a new computer with a Logitech MK550 Keyboard/Mouse Combo.
    • Logitech K350 keyboard
    • Logitech M510 mouse
The mouse worked OK but the keyboard was intermittent. Sometime I had to hit a key ten times before I got a response. The dongle works at 2.4 GHz so I figured it was getting interference. A little searching pointed to two possible sources for the problem.
    1. The USB dongle was plugged into a USB 3.0 port. Someone said USB 3.0 can cause interference with 2.4 GHz.
    2. Some of my wireless devices use the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band. There could be interference from that.
Not knowing what to believe I took measures to counter both:
    1. I Plugged the USB dongle into a USB 2.0 port
    2. I Moved all of the wireless device that could from the 2.4GHz band to the 5GHz band
The result was a big reduction in the intermittent problems the keyboard was having. Not perfect but at least the keyboard was usable now. I can't say what I did will help you. All I can say is give a try.

    Logitech keyboard inconsistent connectivity

I first mentioned a problem I had with my keyboard back in 2017 after I built my computer. I gave details in the following post: Logitech keyboard inconsistent connectivity What was different this time was that both my Logitech keyboard and mouse connection became more and more intermittent. Moving the Logitech USB dongle from the computer back panel to the computer front panel was only a temporary fix. When neither the keyboard or mouse would no longer work I decided it was time to finally find the cause of the problem. I unplugged the common Logitech USB dongle and replaced it with one from another dongle from a Logitech M325 mouse. Both the keyboard and mouse worked again. I then tried the problem Logitech USB dongle on another computer with a Logitech M325 mouse. The Logitech Bolt program couldn't even detect the dongle. I was finally able to verify that the original Logitech USB dongle was faulty. I bought a replacement Logitech USB dongle from Amazon. Going back to the computer to test the new dongle I found out it was intermittent also. I remembered the problem I had back in 2017 and moved the dongle from the front panel USB 3.0 port to the back panel USB 2.0 port like they had been the last few years. Both the keyboard and mouse appear to work OK now. Note that a wired keyboard and mouse were temporarily connected to the computer until the wireless keyboard/mouse were paired with the new dongle. My main point with all this is I am still having intermittent problems with the keyboard/mouse combo when using one of the computer's USB 3.0 ports. A USB 2.0 ports works better. I am still not sure whether the problem is with the keyboard, motherboard, or some kind interference. BTW, the computer also has a Tp-Link UB400 Bluetooth 4..0 USB dongle. Hopefully it is not interfering with the keyboard/mouse USB dongle.

Logitech USB dongle causing intermittent keyboard issues

Logitech wireless keyboard / mouse hangs

    Problems

    • Intermittent nature
    • The mouse will often hang (won't move)
    • The keyboard will often not type
    • Sometimes, the keys get saved up and come out later all at once, and sometimes they never come out
    • The mouse seems to have difficulty traveling to the top left of the screen.

    Equipment

    • Dell Precision M3800 Laptop
    • Windows 10 Professional operating system
    • Logitech wireless keyboard (K270)
    • Logitech wireless mouse (M185). They came in the same box / use the same dongle.
    • "Plugable USB 3.0" docking station that runs the DisplayLink software. It has two monitors attached to it, one by DVI and the other by HDMI. It's plugged into the laptop by USB.

    Troubleshooting Steps Taken

    • Wired keyboard and wired mouse work great.
    • When wireless was plugged in, it was in a USB port on the laptop itself, not the docking station
    • I rerouted the monitors to plug directly into the laptop (take this docking station out of the equation). So far the wireless keyboard/mouse are not malfunctioning. This seems to indicate that the docking station is a necessary component to reproduce the problem). But I have to give it 1-2 days to make sure because the problem is intermittent.

    Question

What would be a good first choice for a fix I can try that won't hurt anything (update a driver...where?)?
