Windows 10: Long loading time blue circle when opening any folder in Windows Explorer

Since this morning, out of nowhere, I have had the problem of extremely long loading times when opening folders and subfolders on my computer.My computer only has SSDs installed and up to now the speed of opening folders has never been a problem or there have been no loading times at all.The problem occurs on all hard disks.Apart from that, the computer doesn't seem to be any slower and it's not being used to capacity in any way.The problem does not exist if I want to upload something - for example to Whatsapp, Discord, Teams, etc. - etc. Here, the file search interface opens and I can click t

Loading of documents in windows explorer takes long time

Recently, my windows explorer is really slow whereby a green loading bar is visible for a long time.

I tried multiple options such as:
- a refresh via the task manager
- rebuilding index
- clear explorer history (+launching folder windows in a separate process)
- uncheck "Allow files in this folder to have contents indexed in addition to file properties"
- msconfig > uncheck "Windows Search" (this option is not visible anymore in my System Configuration either)

but none of these options work. As a result of this problem, I cannot create new folders or whatsoever as the explorer seems to freeze. I wonder what other steps can be taken to fix this loading problem.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
