  1. [LONG] Windows 10 Update problems driving me insane

This is going to be a bit long, so please bear with me. I'll start from the beginning.

All my problems started about 2 months ago, when my .NET Framework 4.5 Machine.config file got corrupted. I use a lot of tools that need the Framework to function at all, so I quickly needed a fix. I tried every solution offered by windows forums. Almost every site/forum I visited suggested that I rename the machine.config.default to machine.config and replace it. Didn't work. I tried windows troubleshooter. That too didn't work. I got a friend of mine to email me his copy of machine.config. This temporarily solved the issue, but it came back in 10 days or so. In a youtube video, I saw that this issue (error 0×C00CE556) could be solved by updating my Win10 with the Media Creation Tool v20H2.

So, I downloaded it from the official site and started the process. I hadn't updated Windows for a while, so the update size for me was about 4gb. It finished downloading, and then got stuck during the 'checking for updates' stage at 16%. I searched for possible solutions on the 'net and ended up doing the following:

    Turned off Windows Update Service

Deleted everything in C;/Windows/SoftwareDistribution/Download and C;/Windows/SoftwareDistribution/DataStore

    Turned on Windows Update Service

At this point, every guide I saw claimed that the process would move on to complete the 'checking for updates' thing and start installing the one that had just finished downloading. It didn't. At this point, I had to exit the program and turn the PC off.

I turned on the PC and started up MediaCreationTool20H2.exe, thinking that it would simply install the already downloaded update. It didn't. It just started REDOWNLOADING the same thing it had downloaded not 4 hours ago. At this point, I lost it and cancelled the process. Can anyone help me? Is there anything I could do to end this?

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
