  1. Looking for a way to hide one Chrome instance from the taskbar without hiding its actual window

Image for clarity--what I'd like to be able to do is to disappear that Twitch window from the taskbar while still leaving the actual video it's playing visible on my second monitor.

I've come up with a lot of half-solutions--I can use virtual desktops to move that element away, but that also hides the actual video. I can't find a way to assign a virtual desktop to a specific monitor such that its elements show up only in it--and anyway that wouldn't allow me to easily multitask with the second monitor when I need to duck away from whatever I'm watching.

I can tell the taskbar to only show elements for each monitor that are present on that monitor, but that also interferes with multitasking--ideally it's only whatever media window I have open that I want tucked away.

There's a program called TaskBar Hide that's supposed to be able to do this, but of its several features, this seems to be the only one that doesn't work. It seems like it might've been made around 1996, from its UI, so I'm not shocked.

Does anyone know of anyway I can tell specific windows in the taskbar to just hide? Or maybe display in the system tray instead of in the taskbar, while still leaving the window itself open? This seems so simple! Tryina reduce clutter in my life 'cause there is Way Too Much Stuff Open at all times around here.

  2. how to effectively hide or disable the taskbar?

    Hi,

Did you try the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option from Taskbar properties?

If you have not tried it, I would suggest you to follow these steps and auto-hide the taskbar:

    • Right click on Taskbar.
    • Click on Properties
    • Check the box Auto-hide the taskbar.
    • Click on OK.

    Hope this information helps.

  3. hide the taskbar

    Hi

my name is Dennis, I'm an independent advisor and I'll do my best to help today.

    follow these steps

    1. On any blank area of your Windows 10 taskbar, right click to reveal a list of menu options.

    2. At the bottom of the list of options, click on Taskbar settings.

    3. In the Taskbar menu, ensure that the option for "Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode" is enabled by clicking to turn the small lever to the right of the option blue.

    4. Your taskbar should disappear automatically once the hide options are enabled.

    Regards,

    Dennis.

Auto Hide Taskbar Not hiding Windows 10

    Hi Peter,

It looks like you're having problems with the auto-hide feature of your taskbar. For us to effectively assist you with your concern, we would like to know the following:

    • When did you start experiencing the problem?
    • Did you make any changes to your computer prior to the issue?
    • Have you tried to turn on and off the auto-hide feature, and see if it helps?
    • Have you tried turning on the auto-hide function without any apps opened on the taskbar?

Also, make sure that there are notifications from apps whether on the taskbar or on the system tray that requires your attention, and need to be checked. This is also one of the reasons why the taskbar doesn't automatically hide.

    Regards.
