Windows 10: looking for media application to play M3U files

I'm not sure if this is the correct sub-forum to ask, but I'm looking for some software which doesn't seem to be available with the requirements I have.

Basically, I'm looking for a player that can read M3U files. I can hear you say ANY player can do that. Well, yes but they all seem to fail of one the additional requirements. Some of these tools have a ton of parameters, I may just be missing the correct - non-standard setting ...

OK, so these are the requirements:
- able to read M3u files as input
- obviously able to play general movie and foto extensions (including but not limited to MTS and PNG)
- MUST have a manual advance option, that is: it must halt after every foto, then wait for a key press, and have a time-out that must be able to be set yourself, and a value that is minimum 60 seconds
- fotos MUST be displayed correctly: portrait orientation as portrait, landscape as landscape (without changing the source files in any way)

I found that the basic Windows player, and MPC and VLC do not have all of these options.
One of them has a time-out in the settings, but it doesn't respect that, and often it skips after 1 second. One of these can't do the portrait/landscape thing.

E51 will not play downloaded .m3u files

Hi Can anyone tell me how to get my e51 to play .m3u files opened from the web? I'm a keen
www.emusic.com user but when I ty to listen to song or album extracts the media player opens and gives the message "invaid track list" - help!

 

Saving Media Player Playlists as an M3U file

Hi Greg,

For Windows Media Player

Click Library

In the Contents pane (the left pane), expand the My Playlists category, then click a playlist to make it play.

On the File menu, click Save Now Playing List As (Save Playlist As in Windows Media Player 9 Series), click Save as type, and then click M3U Playlist(*.m3u).

In the File name box, type a file name for the M3U playlist, and then click Save.

E51 will not play downloaded .m3u files

Thanks for the replies - what I would like is for the .m3u file to create a playlist in the media player and stream the content from emusic. The emusic service offers 30 second samples of each track and it's those I want to hear. For example this is one
of the sound clips

What I do on my desktop computer is to save this file then open it in itunes and it plays the song clip. Is there any way to do this on the e51? I can't see any "save as" option to download files from the browser.
