Windows 10: Looking for updated software for my Conexant Systems internal PCIe telephone modem board....

I have an old Conexant Systems telephone fax modem that I bought many years ago and have removed and reinstalled in each new PC that I have purchased since buying the internal modem. It is not working right anymore in my Windows 10 PC but it used to work just fine and now it will dial a phone number once and then it doesn't work again. The current software running the modem is PCIe Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP Version 7.80.2.52. I have done some Internet research and found that there was an updated version 7.80.4.50 but I cannot locate this software download anywhere on the Internet and t

PCIe fax modem detected and installed by Windows 10, but cannot query and cannot use it

My internal PCIe fax modem which worked well in Windows 8.1, is identified and installed with MS WHCP driver by Windows 10 as "PCIe Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP". No errors or conflicts listed in Device Manager. However, Windows says no fax modems installed
so I cannot use the Fax and Scan app.

I query the modem to diagnose, and this is the error message: "The port that the modem is attached could not be opened. This may be the result of a hardware conflict. Check the device manager to verify all devices are functional."

Any help appreciated.

 

Conexant driver update for Conexant SmartAudio HD

To figure out if the update fails or not, we can simply check and compare the driver version after the update. Follow the steps below for more information:

• Search for Device Manager via Cortana.
• Look for Conexant from the list of devices (should be under Sound, video and game controllers)
• Right click and select properties
• Check the driver version from the Driver tab.

USB Conexant Modem Not Working With Windows 10

I've had to recently reset my PC to upgrade to Windows 10 1809.

This is done but my Modem no longer works.

It is a USB Conexant model, one of these:





I have the CD with drivers and have tried them all.

Tried downloading various drivers/Windows Update etc.

This has happened before - a Creators update automatically fixed the problem.

Any ideas?
