Looking to backup shortcuts & tiles located on the Windows 10 Start Screen

I keep a large variety of shortcuts and some live tiles on my Start Screen.I need to know where Windows stores this data so it can be backed up and easily restored when/if performing a clean install or other procedures that may wipe the Start Screen.for example:and this question has nothing to do with Restore Points or any other means of backing up or restoring the OS or any other data so please don't mention it.i just want to know where this specific Start Screen data would be stored in the system folders, registry, etc...

    :)

After Windows 8 to 10 upgrade, lost Windows 8 Start Screen shortcuts

After upgrading to Windows 10 all of my IE shortcuts from the Windows 8 Start Screen are missing. I can import favorites from IE off the Win 7 side but can't seem to locate any of the Win 8 Start Screen IE shortcut tiles.. Any suggestions??

you can just unbind all the tiles, and pin your shortcuts to the top list like in win7.

Thank you for posting you query on the Microsoft Community. Let me assist you.

You can add, remove as well as select different types of tiles for your Windows 10 Start page. I suggest you to follow the below steps.

    Steps:

    a. Go to Start Screen and right-click on the tile which you want to rename or customize. Now click on "Open file location" option present at the bottom.

    b. It'll open "Programs" folder which contains all the shortcuts that are shown on Start Screen.

    c. To change tile icon, right-click on the program shortcut and select "Properties" option.

    d. It'll open shortcut properties window. Now click on "Change Icon" button and select desired icon.

    e. At last apply the changes.

Now go to Start Screen again and you'll see the new icon of your desired tile.
