Windows 10: Looks like just 2 months ago Quality Update fizzled. Now another comes along and it's...

Just 2 months ago I had this problem, and apparently a lot of others did too. I thought I had to do a complete reset, which I did, and then the update loaded. This was the old instance.Old Update IssueNow it's happening again. Seems we never got an answer back then how to eliminate it, or delete it or whatever. So many of us tried to use suggestions without success, until I did a complete reset of Windows and then first thing it became installable. Windows just keeps bugging you somehow to install it but it never takes. This is what I see in this image ... Why are these last update failing for

IE7 Is Coming This Month...Are you Ready?

The final release of IE7 will be released this month. A few weeks after it will be put available for download it will be added to the list of automatic updates.
Improvements over IE6 can be found in layout and security while keeping compatibility. Webmasters will still have to check their sites for compatibility as problems may occur. Steps to ensure compatibility can be found here.
Of course you won't be forced to upgrade, if you don't want IE7 you can simply remove it from the automatic updates list and update it when you are ready.

No Cumulative Updates for 2 months.

I haven't received any quality (cumulative) updates since the 11th May. The MSRT (KB 890830) comes through each month, as well as the regular Security Intelligence updates for Defender, but nothing else. Windows Update says I'm up to date once I've received these updates and I can't see anything amiss with my update settings, My Windows version is W10 Pro 20H2. Until June I never had an issue with updates. Any suggestions please?

 

Intel Updates Core 2 Quad Q9550 to E-0 Stepping

We continue our Monday news list with another Intel story that brings to our attention information concerning the company and more specificly its 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad Q9550 chips that will move from the current C-1 to the newer E-0 stepping. The updated chips will start selling on August 22nd, featuring the following changes:

• New SSpec and MM numbers for the converting products
• CPUID will change from 0x10677 to 0x1067A
• Package change to Halide free package

Apart from that, the new stepping CPUs will not include any other changes. Of course, like most new stepping parts a BIOS update will be needed.
