Windows 10: Losing all pc personalizations after updated my account email address

Hi. I recently changed the email I sign in with on my Microsoft account as it was outdated and one I never check anymore. However, if necessary, I can still access the old email for security codes and stuff. So my account now logs in with my newer "gmail" account and when my pc loads all of my personalizations are gone. I also have and sign into Microsoft 365.


Can someone tell me how to sync up my prior personalizations?


Plust if I create a word document now and save it to the desktop, it is there but once I reboot the file is gone and even a search turns up nothing.

Unauthorized Emails from my account?

It is more than likely that your email account was hacked, either by a virus sniffing your password, or just simply hacked.

Either way, change your password on your email account. Unfortunately the damage by already be done. They already have your contact list and your email address associated with that contact list. There is nothing stopping them from sending out emails using their own SMTP servers to everyone on your contact list and claiming the emails are from your email address. They don't actually have to have access to your yahoo account or even any yahoo server to send emails to people that come from your address.

As for the part where you can connect your work address to a personal Microsoft Account (or as Microsoft words it - adding your work or school email to your Outlook.com account)

It states the following underneath:

• You cannot add an alias that is already associated with another Microsoft account.
  
• You can't add an email address that's already associated with a work or school account as an alias.
  

This is good as I would always want my private personal data and my business data kept separate.

 

Unauthorized Emails from my account?

Embarrassingly, everyone on my email list received spam originating from my account, which is Yahoo based. A scan with MSE found two trojans, a Java/Rowindal.A and a Downloader:Java/OpenStream.W.

Are these the source of my unwanted email traffic? Would someone opening this email be infected with the same problems? Could there be more dangerous underlying threats.

Hell, I have quite a few high dollar clients in my list. I always treat people's addresses like they were unlisted numbers, and don't send frivolous "Hey how are ya" junk. This is mortifying.*Eek!
