  1. Losing storage space in Window 11 or false display?

Hello,For some unknown reason, my laptop ASUS keeps losing 1GB in storage space on my C Drive whenever I turn it back on or restart it. It has been happening for the last two days and I was afraid that I would run out of free space soon. However, to make this situation even more confusing, I already have a problem with this losing storage problem a few weeks ago where my C Drive go from over 60GB to only 45GB or so after several days. I have deleted several unwanted files in both temporary and other folders that I don't need which by my count should free me up to 20GB or so but the C Drive sti

  2. Manage Storage Spaces does not appear to work

    Hi,

My name is Mohammed Shuaib, an Independent Advisor and I'm here to assist you with the issue of managing storage spaces. Please follow the below to reset the new 5x10TB drives and then create the storage pool.

    Step 1:

Go to search box next to windows icon and type Windows Powershell

    Step 2:

Right-click on Windows PowerShell ISE & then select Run As Administrator

    Step 3:

Type "Get-PhysicalDisk" then makes a note that there's a property called "CanPool". Under which it should be True or False for the drives you want to make a storage pool out of (in your case for 5x10TB drives). If its false then follow the below steps to make
    it true.

    Step 4:

Type "Get-PhysicalDisk | Select FriendlyName, UniqueId" to view the UniqueIds of the 10 TB drives you to want to reset. Note that these UniqueIds can take many different forms (strings, guids with or without brackets, hex), so be sure to copy the full string
(including any dashes or brackets) for this next part.

    Step 5:

Finally, execute "Reset-PhysicalDisk -UniqueId (value from the previous step). Execute the for all 5x10TB drives one by one. This clears/resets any metadata related to Storage Spaces. It's not clear from the documentation for this cmdlet whether it deletes
any data on the drive if the disk is not already part of storage space (if it is, it does, so be careful).

    Step 6:

Now type "Get-PhysicalDisk", hopefully, that "CanPool" value that was false before is now true. After this, you should be able to proceed in creating a storage space with these drives.

Let me know the status after performing the above.

    Regards

    Shuaib

    Windows Manage Storage Spaces

    Dear Windows Team,

Are there any list of drives which are supported to use manage storage spaces.

As I have 10x 5TB WD My Passport Drive all drives shows error while creating for pool like the listed drive doesn't support the pool option.

Then which drives should I use?

    Any suggestions!!!
