Loss of access to NAS drives after win 10 update to Ver 2004. I have LAN setup incorporating WiFi, with PC & Laptop of which both have lost NAS connection. I have a further problem as being forced to do a factory install and lost most of windows Apps. When I try to Map a network drive I receive Windows cannot access \\NAS-, with error code 0x80070035. The Dell G3 laptop which had previously had NAS access, now had No access.


As a further check I have an older Laptop with a delaminated screen but still running Win 10 Ver 1909 and I can still access NAS drives. I delayed updates for a month and disconnected the NAS access, restarted everything and was able to map all 4 NAS drives. I think Microsoft has made another BoBo. Makes one once again think about Linux/Red Hat

A few possible reasons can cause this issue. To help us identify the cause of this problem, we would like to know the following information:

• How is your NAS box connected to your computer? (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or USB)
• Are you using a program provided by the manufacturer of your NAS box to access it?
• Do you receive any error messages when accessing your NAS box? If yes, what is the exact error message?
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

Upgarde Win 10 Home - 2004

I have a Linux based NAS attached to my home network, on my laptop I have Win 10 Home.

This Linux NAS has always been accessible from my laptop.

Recently I applied the upgrade of Win 10 to version 2004 to my laptop.

After the upgrade everything seemed to be ok but I noticed that I had lost access to my NAS.

The network path and the drive mapped to it were not known anymore to the PC.

I reactivated the network path and the associated drive - this PC, Add a network location, Map network drive - and I could access my NAS again.

But when I restart my PC the network path has again disappeared.

Clearly Win 10 Home version 2004 does not retain the network path – in this case of a Linux based
device - after restart.

I take it that this is a bug in version 2004.

Correct? If so by when will this be addressed?
