Windows 10: Loss of audio

I have been using Windows 10 since day one. It has always functioned for me. I have been having problems with the main audio outputs at the rear connection. However I had switch over to the internal speakers last week to help select and download a movie with good audio. The download was successful. The next day I had no audio at all. I have tried to test the rear connection, the internal speaker, and the front jack for audio and nothing will work. I tested another set of small speakers on a different PC and they work fine.


I've downloaded and reinstalled the latest RealTek high def audio drivers. When I plug in a good set of spearkers to the rear jack,..the Sound app only shows the internal speaker available. In other times is says there is no speaker jack plugged into the rear connection.


Yesterday I downloaded and installed Windows 10 ver 204 successfully and still there is no change.

I hope someone can guide me through finding and fixing this problem. I've already pull all of my hair out.

We suggest that you run troubleshooting for Audio Recording by following these steps:

• Type troubleshooting on the search box.
• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.

Sound loss

In most cases, you may experience a sound loss if its audio driver is incompatible with the installed latest Windows version. For us isolate the issue, we suggest that you update the device's audio driver by following the steps given on this article:

Update drivers in Windows 10.
