Windows 10: Loss of control of mouse clicking on applications

I have had this issue for quite a while now, This occurs infrequently when I leave my laptop on standby, sometimes when I re-log in my mouse cursor stats moving on its on focusing on applications like file explorer and clicking through the files, I have never let the cursor get close to a file to delete/modify them. I normally click ctrl-alt delete and try and take back control of the mouse to click restart. Upon restating the computer the mouse is back to normal. Please advise how to resolve this as im worried it might be a virus

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your mouse.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
• Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.
