Windows 10: Loss of cursor on start up

    Loss of cursor on start up


    I lost my cursor on start up, this began when the comp was switched off by the comps on and off button. I have microsoft edge, my son went into mouse in settings, and it says drivers up to date, he tryed to reinstall mouse, which then says driver not working etc. Plus it came up on screen that the system was switched off unexspectedly and to click on the button to restore microsoft edge. We couldnt do that as i said we dont have a cursor. This is a home made comp, which is several years old, in the past week had comp checked, and microsoft edge installed. Which was ok till now.     cursor dissappeared

    Thank you both for your prompt replies, I tried all steps listed, some I had tries previously but I still tried them again, but still no cursor.

    Do you have any other suggestions?

    Cursor turning invisible without warning

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. Appreciate your interest in using Windows 10.

    I suggest you to check if the issue persists if the cursor is not changed and using the default mouse cursor for both gaming and accessing the computer. If the issue still persists, follow the steps below:

    • Right click on Start icon and select Device Manager.
    • Expand Mice and other pointing devices/touchpad.
    • Right click on Mouse driver and click on uninstall.
    • Restart the computer and check for status.

    Loss of cursor on start up

    cursor loss intermittently since installing Windows 10

    Have not been able to try it yet. PC has no other software added except Adobe Acrobat.Acer suggested their clean boot but there is a data loss. If I try your method is it just data loss or do I have to re-load Office etc?

    Has just done it again and had to hold power button for 10 secs to switch off but it is very difficult to get it to restart.

    Cursor loss coincides with loss of wifi and internet access. Clicking on wifi taskbar icon only comes up with flight mode and settings, no wifi signals are shown. Clicking on settings again shows no wifi at top of the panel which it would normally.
