Windows 10: Loss of gaming performance in Win11 23H2 versus 21H2

When running various game benchmarks with them running in a CPU bound configuration, I'm seeing a 5-10% drop in performance in 23H2 vs 21H2.My system:Intel 14900kGskill 48Gb DDR5 KitAsus Z790 Apex motherboardAsus 4090 TUFI've seen articles about this and have tried the fix that is shown here,https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows11/comments/17ytpxr/cpu_performance_degradation_after_23h2_update/But any time I turn on VBS and memory integrity, performance is worse. Best performance is always with VBS disabled in the bios.These are the results I have in Cyberpunk, for example, running in 1080p High,

Install of 23h2 on Win11 wipes out successful install of 22h2

My lenovo came with win11 21h2 and has been trying to install 22h2 for months. I finally went through the 15 step process (exaggeration) to fix it and finally 22h2 installed correctly.

Filled to the brim with hope, I tried the 23h2 install. Not only did it fail, it regressed my back to 21h2.

So I am officially dropping support of Microsoft. If they can't something simple like an update to work dependably, I don't expect the next release to be any better.

 

21H2 to 23H2?

IMO, all updates should be covered. You can directly upgrade from 21H2 to 23H2, and skip 22H2.

 

windows 11 23h2 from 21h2 was helping w some not working dlss in a few games but a game now wont start at all

i bought a new pc that had win11 21h2 in it and auto updated to 23h2 recently and that fixed 1 game called red dead redemption 2´s Dlss problem.

But now i cant even launch my game BALDURS GATE 3 at all .

It crashes directly at launch and i have tried everything by now since i updated from update all drivers for gpu and alot of other stuff that has to do w gaming.

this game worked without problem on windows 11 21h2 and win 10 on older pc so it must be something w this latest windows 11 update called 23h2

So what can i do`? Is there even anything i can do abaout this problem?

As many know games arnt cheap and when i even cant play them its even more expensive.

Hope something can be done about my problem w latest win11 update 23h2
