Windows 10: Loss of sound and no detection in device manager after win 10 64 bit re-install also HDD...

I just had to replace hard drive as system crashed and I thought it would be easier than trying to unscramble NTFS files corruption on original drive for right now.


I reinstalled win 10 64 bit using Media Creator tool, all went well however, could not install video drivers and system would "loose" video cards from Device Manager as well as monitors solved this by installing drivers in safe mode!, System has 1-24" Viewsonic, 1-Ugee 2150 HD Graphics tablet monitor and a 49" Samsung QLED TV/monitor for graphics development


At this point all was going well, however no audio ASUS DX PCIe 7.1 sound card, always worked perfect with old drive in win 10, now, not even seen in Device Manager. When I tried to install audio driver windows said "no audio output device detected". My work around was to activate on-board sound, which works for now.


Tried an older Creative Labs card and win 10 drivers in an open PCI slot but same problem.


System is an ASUS P5Q-E MoBo, Xeon 5460 cpu at 4 GHz and 16gb DDR2 ram with 1-GTX 560 Ti and 1-GTX 750 Ti I know, old, but it works for me!


I am stumped, any ideas as to where to start?

Sound issues Windows 10 64-bit

I've tried these suggested steps multiple times and it did not help.

Then I've made a clean installation (erased/formated everything on my HDD) of Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit and upgraded immediately to Windows 10 at the end of the installation of win 8.1.

After that sound was fine (only GPU drivers manually installed and no other manually downloaded drivers) but then after 2 or 3 restarts sound was gone again.

I then updated the driver/codec (i have Realtek ALC892) with Realtek Audio Codecs R2.79 and for now it did the trick.

Hope it will solve the problem in the long term. Stay tuned (-;

 

NO SOUND Win 10 64 bit

Only speaker I have used with this computer is Bose bluetooth, which didn't work great, but had some sound. (Bluetooth is off) . Trying to hook up Creative Labs T40 speakers to Win 10 64 bit, HP Envy (no internal speakers) . Have 6 audio connectors, used
Green (out)

I have tried the Troubleshooting - a few times. It says speakers are not connected. Also NO system sounds. I have 2 HDMI speakers listed and neither work. Speakers worked great on Win 7 machine, which has been hacked. Help, please!

 

HOW DO I ADD SOUND DEVICE TO WIN 10?

I AM USING WIN 10 HOME 64 BIT: IT DOES DETECT A SOUND DEVICE ON PC. HOW DO I INSTALL THE SOUND DRIVER ON MY PC??
