Windows 10: Loss of sound on PC after Windows 10 update

Wonder if anyone can help ? After a recent auto update all sound was lost on my PC. I have tried to fix it loads of ways, using all the troubleshoot systems which did not help at all. I have updated all the audio drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled them. The computer tells me they are all running perfectly but still no sound.

As it is now more than 10 days since the update and problems started I no longer have the option to roll back the update to a previous version. What can I try now ?

Step 1: Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter
and check.

checks for common problems and makes sure that any new device or hardware connected to your PC is installed correctly.

• Press Windows key from the keyboard, type
  Troubleshooting and select it.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner of
  Troubleshooting window.
• Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
  
• Click Next to run the Hardware and Device
  Troubleshooter.
