Lost ability for native 2560x1440 resolution after cumulative updates March 2021

After new update I've lost ability to use the native maximum resolution of my monitor connected via HDMI.

It used to work good with custom resolution added to the Intel HD 4000 settings, and after the update it will

not accept a resolution of 2560x1440 at any refresh rate.... :

weirdly, system restore show no points of restore before the update so I'm stuck with a low-blurry resolution on my 27" DELL monitor...

  2. Windows 10 2560x1440 resolution

I have recently upgraded to the final version of windows 10 pro, 64bit machine. (Build 10240). After upgrading, I can no longer select 2560x1440 resolution for my philips 272C4 27 inch display. In my previous version (windows 7) this worked perfectly. The
display supports and recommends the 2560x1440 resolution when I check in the display menu. I have a radeon 6800 graphics card with the latest drivers version 15.20.1062.1002-150715a-187327C.

Any suggestions? How do I "convince" windows 10 that my display supports this resolution?

  3. NVidia GeForce 780 Not Displaying at Native Resolution of 2560x1440

Hey all. For a few months now I've had a minor, but consistently annoying, problem. After a GeForce driver update in the middle of the year or thereabouts, my monitor refuses to display at native resolution.

Whenever I use Driver Cleaner, upon relaunch it's back at native resolution. Upon applying the latest NVidia drivers (376.48 as of this writing) it reverts to 1920 x 1080 and won't even display the option for native resolution.

Attempting to create a custom resolution via the NVidia control panel make everything look fuzzy and smeared, as opposed to the crispness of native resolution, so that doesn't appear to want to work.

A little trial and error seems to indicate that the last update that worked properly was 365.10. I had contented myself with reverting to that, but now newer games don't seem to want to run without newer drivers, putting me in a minor bind.

My monitor is an MG279Q. Its native resolution is 2560 x 1440.

My graphics card is a GeForce 780.

    My box is:
    Proc: i5-2500K
    Mobo: P8-P67M PRO
    Ram: 8 GB

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

  4. Lost ability for native 2560x1440 resolution after cumulative updates March 2021

Unable to set screen resolution to 2560x1440

Thank you. I converted again from Win 7 to Win 10 (a later version than above) no problem with latest version

of Win 10. Resolution set itself automatically to the correct resolution same as I was using on Wind 7 (2560X1440)

Thanks for resolving. Love the Win 10 ... working super.
