Windows 10: Lost ability to use DVD-RW for writing

    Lost ability to use DVD-RW for writing


    An update appears to have removed my ability to use DVD's R/W ability. I can read from it. I can see the device, but I cannot write to it. Removing the driver and reinstalling does not appear to help. Advice to update a registry entry has not helped. The PC has lots of specialty software installed, so reformatting it is the last thing I want to do.

    Unable to Erase RW DVD!

    And I just realized that the DVD RW drive, means the DVD drive has the ability to read, write and re-write.

    This has nothing to do with the disk you insert into the drive.

    The previous info covers that.

    DVD RW DRIVE IS NOT WRITING ANY DVD IN WINDOWS 10

    WHY MY OPTIARC DVD RW AD-1700H (DVD RW DRIVE) IS NOT ABLE TO WRITE DVD AFTER UPGRADING TO WINDOWS 10 (OLDER IS WINDOWS 7)? DRIVERS ARE UP TO DATE FOR THIS DRIVE.

    Lost ability to use DVD-RW for writing

    DVD Drive not Reading DVD+RW or DVD+R DL disks

    My DVD drive (F) will not write on a
    DVD+RW disk or a DVD+R DL disk. I have no problem using regular DVD's. (only RW & DL). I've researched online and I uninstalled the driver as per the instructions and restarted my computer but the problem
    wasn't fixed. Any suggestions? Thanks
