Windows 10: Lost admin access after disk clone although can still log in but just cannot access...

I have a very strange and annoying problem. My 128GB SSD drive which was the boot drive with Windows 7 pro installed was full so I got a 1TB SSD and cloned the old drive to the new one using minitool partition wizard free. I then booted from the new drive but didn't disconnect the old one. I logged in as normal but then couldn't access anything that requires Admin rights although my account still shows it's an Administrator account. I then disconnected the new drive and booted from the old one but had exactly the same problem! It seems I've been demoted to a standard user on both drives e

Accessing a Hard Drive...

You can boot from Norton Ghost and clone that disk to your hard drive. Then boot normally install virtual machine with xp and from that machine access cloned drive. It's a complex but safe process.

I would suggest that you perform the step mentioned below and check if the issue persist:

Method 1: Change the account to admin.

  Click on the Start Menu,
  locate and click on “Settings” which is located on the left menu pane.
  
• 
  Then click on “Accounts”, locate
  “Family and other Users” located on the left menu pane.
  
• 
  On the navigation window, you will be able to view all the accounts that have been created in your computer. Click on the account that you choose to switch to administrator account.
  
• 
  You will find the option to “Change Account Type”, click on it. Then you will find a drop down list where you can change the user account to admin. Make the changes to your liking and restart computer.
