Windows 10: lost all sound after installing a new monitor with HDMI cable

I've just installed a new monitor connected through and HDMI cable and I lost sound in my onboard sound card.

The monitor has no speakers. My computer is now silent.

I've read a few posts about this issue and tried a bunch of fixes but no one worked:

-going through solving audio issues in windows troubleshooter and I only get the HDMI channels that I don't want to use...



-uninstaling sound drivers and rebooting

-installing the latest Realtek drivers and rebooting

-switching off audio through HDMI


etc...




I'm running a Dell XPS 7100 AMD phenom II x6 with a Nvidia GTX960 GPU

No sound after upgrading to GTX 1060 (using HDMI cable/dual monitors)

So yesterday I've bought a GTX 1060 6GB (MSI version) and replaced my old GT 730. So previously I used DVI and VGA for my monitors (as I didn't have a HDMI port on old GT 730). And now I'm using HDMI on one of my monitor and DVI on the other one.
Right after upgrading to GTX 1060 I've understood that I have no sound on my SPEAKERS and so far nothing has helped. I'll post a list of the things I've already did (which is about 5 pages of Google search all over)
• Tried plugging in only one monitor (the one with DVI) - still no sound.
• Replaced my GPU into another slot on my motherboard - still no sound.
• Uninstalled/Reinstalled/Deleted/Disabled/Removed drivers and devices from Device Manager - still no sound.
• Have my Speakers as default on Sound options menu

(the green bars are moving when I try to play something) - still no sound.
• REINSTALLED WINDOWS and did everything above from the beginning - sitll no sound.
• Enabled onboard sound card in BIOS - still no sound.
• Updated all the drivers - still no sound.
• Might have forgotten some other steps I did, but I've tried almost everything I could find on the Google search.

No sound using TV as monitor with HDMI cable

You can check what sound source you have active,
by right clicking the sound icon at systemtray and press Sounds.





Or you can go to, Control Panel\Hardware and Sound > Sound

From there press Playback tab and change to the source ur Tv has.
( in my example my current source is my sound blastser )

 

New Monitor No Sound from HDMI

Did the cable come with the monitor? Or did you buy it extra? It might be printed on the cable, but if it came with the monitor, it's probably the correct version, also if the packing list in the manual says High Speed Cable, it should be OK and it's just a handshake problem: HDCP / HDMI Handshake Troubleshooting and Guidelines when HDMI Equipment produces snow or no signal
