    Lost data from onedrive.


    I logged in my work email on my local PC at home using the work email trying to access my work stuff through the onedrive to edit some documents. But while getting access and connecting i accidentally went to sync my local PC desktop and other document files into the work onedrive. I think it synced the whole C drive or something. So i tried to delete the file from my onedrive as i thought my local desktop items will still be on local PC but turns out it went on to delete my whole desktop and now it is empty except for my D drive items. And i remember creating a back up and having a restore p

    Windows 10 - OneDrive

    Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

    If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

    Well, I'm sorry to hear that it's a WD My Passport that failed on you, @tomhenry ! *Frown Lost data from onedrive. :(
    I'd recommend you to try using a different USB cable with it and see if that will help your system to detect it without it disconnecting.
    I'd also suggest you to go to Disk Management and see how the drive is listed there. It won't hurt to check up on the health and SMART status of the HDD by running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics.
