Windows 10 Specifications & Systems Requirements
Windows 10 System Requirements Specifications | Microsoft
--- There are notes mentioning smaller volume HDD’s including 32GB.

When you say lost disk space, what are you comparing that too?
--- At this time, you have 2.87 g free of 27.8 g, when was it better and by how much?
--- That amounts to only about 10% of free space.
--- Was the factory reset done for a reason concerning hard drive space?
--- Is the HDD the original one for your computer and how old/new is it?
You could look to see if the HDD is automatically being optimized on a schedule: I have my schedule for weekly.

Then there are startups: do you have startup programs running such as OneDrive which usually has a high startup impact: maybe an internet security package?

Running TreeSize as recommended will be interesting on what it finds.

  2. I know it's probably been asked, but I can't find it.
Okay - I did a factory reset. Less than a month later, I've got 2.87 g free of 27.8 g on my hard drive. I have zero pictures, videos, etc. I've run the useless disk cleanup tool and cleaned a cool 20 MB of space. I know, breathtaking, right?
Every search I've done on this issue comes up with 'run our useless utility and waste 20 minutes' or some such nonsense.
Windows 10 and I don't know the rest. What is using up all the space? Is Windblows really using 25 gig ?

    :)

  3. Lost disk space

    hi!

My C drive is 118 SSD. According to diskmgmt.msc it now has less then 20G free space. According to a small utility "folder size" - 47G only are used. I've checked folder by folder with Folder Properties - less then 50 should be used along with
    pagefile.

How can I locate lost 50G?

    Thanks

  5. I would check System Restore. In the Control Panel, view all items(small or large icons) and click on Recovery. Then click on Configure System Restore.

I was noticing my disk space just disappearing while back and that was the cause of it.

My Windows 10 64bit is using 27GB of disk space right now. I have a handful of programs installed, not too many.

Why don't you download TreeSize Free and have a look?

My Windows (64 bit) directory is 9.3GB and everything (including Office and a couple of GB of user data) comes to 16GB.

If you can see where you have the extra 10GB then perhaps you can remove it.

That drive appears to be a 32GB SSD/Solid State Drive, rather limited in capacity. With mine, 2 Tablets and a 2-in1, I add a 64GB MicroSDXXC card for additional capacity.
