    Hi, I have a desktop with multiple drives. Win 10 was installed on Drive 0, and I assume that is where the boot loader was. I have Win 11 installed on Partition 5 of Drive 1. Drive 1 also has Linux on it and the Linux grub2 boot loader. Previously, when I wanted to access Win 11. I selected Windows from grub2 and it launched a loader that asked if I wanted to load Win 10 on disk 0 or Win 11 on disk 1. Disk 0 has now failed hardware, not coming back, and when I select Windows from grub2 I get a Disk or OS not found error because Disk 0 is tot. Is there a way to boot the Win 11 ins

    Can't boot from DVD drive

    Is your controller in RAID/AHCI modes? If so, the DVD drive will be listed as a separate device in the list of available boot devices, not as "CDROM". Remember that when setting boot device priority. Otherwise, read the manual to see which hotkey during POST brings up the boot menu that lets you select which device to boot from. Even here, the drive will be listed separately, and not as "CDROM".

    Lost the Seagate...

    The drive seems to be completely dead, my computer will not boot if I have it connected...to the windows cd or the new installation on the F1 drive (which is the boot drive now by the way)

    Thanks for the above article, im booting into Vista: U 64 right now, I cant follow those steps if the drive is in, it will lock up before it gets that far or if its not a cold boot the drive does not appear on the list.

    You went to bios and selected the dvd drive as first boot up ?) cd-rom doesn't cut it, has to be that exact drive from the list.
